Midsommer Psychotherapy was created by two deeply committed therapists seeking to understand and support their clients. Midsommer integrates various evidence-based modalities to provide the highest quality ethical and effective therapeutic care.
Their role within the session space is inherently humble and curious as they're invited into their clients' story. The therapeutic experience is also one of deep meaning; the founders are deeply impacted by each of their clients and emphasize the importance of the therapeutic relationship.
Midsommer Psychotherapy was created to support clients in developing new insight and awareness to move from a place of self-judgment and shame, and instead towards greater curiosity and understanding of themselves.
Midsommer offers Individual 1:1 Therapy, Relationship Therapy, and Exposures/Intensives. Both psychotherapists also provide Psychological Workshops/Trainings for Corporate work settings, group practices, and related professional agencies.

Nicole Ness, LCPC, CST, PMH-C
PRESIDENT | CO-FOUNDER
Nicole is Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, and a certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor through PSI.
Nicole is a relationship-oriented therapist, in that she supports individuals in rebuilding and repairing the connection they have with themselves, and within their external relationship(s.) Nicole has extensive experience in working with those struggling with an eating disorder and/or negative body image. She operates from a body-inclusive, anti-diet lens where she supports clients in creating a more flexible and freeing relationship with food, a more compassionate/neutral relationship with their bodies, and towards living a life that is less constrained by food-rules and unrealistic body expectations.
Nicole also works with individuals/partnerships in rebuilding the relationships they have with their sexual selves, and sex/intimacy with their partner(s.) Topics explored in Sex/Relationship-Centered Therapy might include: increasing emotional and/or sexual intimacy, sexual dysfunction, trust repair, conflict management, communication, desire discrepancies, and ethical nonmongamy.
Her style of practice is informed by Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and attachment theory.
Nicole's approach therapy is curious, warm and simultaneously direct; she incorporates a sense of relational humor into sessions. The connection and relationship between individual and therapist is ultimately what has drawn Nicole to this work.

Christiana Ryan, MA, LPC
PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Christiana is a licensed professional counselor and received her Masters in Counseling Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Christiana understands that it can feel extremely discouraging when you look at your partner and feel like the spark or flame that brought you together is now dwindling. We find ourselves in patterns that have become comfortable or too familiar and don't know how to break out of them.
The therapy space with Christiana is one where curiosity and authenticity are inherently invited. She supports clients in making sense of all the moments, interactions, traumas, narratives, and experiences that have shaped your relationship as you rebuild your current one.
Christiana show up to sessions with curiosity, humor, and a level of directness that helps aide in this journey of self discovery. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems/Parts-Work to support my clients in not only unpacking their stories, but restructuring and modifying their paths going forward.
Whether you are about to get married, have kids / have one on the way, feel like things are lacking in the bedroom, or just feel like "roommates," Christiana provide a space to navigate these dynamics and work together to help achieve your goals as a couple.therapy sessions.
Principles of Performance and Control provides readers with accessible, purposely concise, and psychologically-sound tools to manage change and adversity more effectively and sustainably.
This book offers both a foundational understanding of anxiety and control (and their correlation), and specific ways to navigate challenging situations and interactions as they arise. While Spencer’s work as an Organizational Psychologist and Clinical Psychotherapist is geared towards specific populations, this book is meant to provide individuals in various contexts with digestible information and actionable skills.
