We are committed to providing quality and effective care for each of our clients. Both of the founders have worked in various mental health settings: group practice, residential and intensive outpatient treatment, and corporate settings. Each context has supported and fostered the creation of Midsommer. We have gained valuable insight within each of these levels of care, and Midsommer is a unique culmination of each of these experiences.
Midsommer Psychotherapy is an "out-of-network" practice. Midsommer does not accept insurance, however we can provide Superbills to help with reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider to receive more information regarding your out-of-network benefits.
Please contact us directly for pricing, we'd be happy to answer all of your cost-related questions.
Your insurance plan might offer reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services. We cannot guarantee what percentage will be reimbursed; Iwehighly recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to inquire about out-of-network coverage. Please note that you will be responsible for paying for sessions out of pocket at the time of service, checking your insurance coverage, and submitting claims to your insurance company for any possible reimbursement.
We provide clients with a superbill at a cadence requested (a detailed receipt of services) that clients submit to their insurer. Please be aware that issuing a superbill requires your clinician to assign a mental health diagnosis, which will appear in your medical records.
Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance provider (their number typically listed on the back of your insurance card):
Confidentiality is such a crucial and foundational piece of a therapeutic alliance and relationship. We are also bound to confidentially both legally and ethically! Limits to confidentiality include any suspected child or elder abuse or neglect, imminent risk of harm or danger to yourself or others, or if the information is court-ordered.
We tend to think of intensives as an “extension” of your traditional 1:1 session with your psychotherapist. Intensives are also appropriate for individuals who are motivated to incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy. ERP is a type of behavioral therapy that exposes individuals to the very source of their obsessions, anxieties, and fears, without using maladaptive coping skills or acting on compulsions. For example, if you are recovering from an Eating Disorder and are seeking to confront forbidden foods and other sources of dietary restraint, Exposures / Intensives would allow for adequate time to plan the exposure, complete it in real-time, debrief, and process with your therapist.
